Vivianna Irizarri
My paintings reflect the romanticism of old master techniques from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Each painting uses lights and darks to emphasis the subject’s strength and vulnerability. As I begin painting, I find the scale and proportions of my subject, then, apply a broad under painting of color to capture the desired hue and value. I gradually build and refine the details around the subject looking for nuances to create a seamless painting. Most of my work uses elements of naturalism and romanticism blending techniques from the past to create surrealistic paintings and drawings.
